The mission of CASA of Menominee/Marinette is to provide quality volunteer advocacy for children who have experienced abuse or neglect involved with family court to assure each child a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.

Funded Program

Child Advocate Training and Support

This program is for children who are in the family court system as victims of neglect and abuse who need guidance to make sure that they do not get lost and their voices are heard. This guidance is provided by Court Appointed Special Advocates who are a child's voice in court and who advocate for the child's right to a safe, healthy, and permanent home. Volunteer advocates undergo a rigorous application process and criminal background check. CASA is in adherence with the National Court Appointed Special Advocate Standards, and advocates receive 5 weeks of classroom training prior to being sworn in by the family court judge as a CASA Volunteer.  Additionally, they are required to do a minimum of 1 hour of continuing education each month on topics such as childhood trauma, domestic violence, and more.

Community Impact

Target Population: Ages 0-18 in Marinette & Menominee Counties
Number of Individuals Served: 41

With the proper training and support, CASA can maintain and continue to grow a talented and passionate pool of volunteers who are dedicated to serving our most vulnerable children. Advocates are able to assist at-risk youth to overcome areas of difficulty allowing them to thrive. As healthy adults, these children are more likely to contribute successfully to their communities instead of continuing the cycle of generational abuse.
