Childcare Support for Families in Need in Oconto Falls
By providing tuition assistance to families in need right here in the Oconto Falls region, Encompass programs allow parents to maintain work while providing their children with access to high-quality education and care. In 2020, Encompass launched an Affordability of Care Initiative, which ties cost of care to a percentage of household income with the goal of families paying no more than 10-15% of household income on childcare.
Community Impact
Target Population: Families who qualify for WisconsinShares and those who fall within the low-to-moderate income needed for the Encompass tuition assistance program.
Number of Individuals Served: 77
1) Gains in Early Childhood Development: Children receiving tuition assistance will experience developmental gains in all areas of early childhood development—social, emotional, physical, and cognitive—due to access to consistent, high-quality care.
2) Increased Access to Childcare for Homeless and Low- to Middle-Income Families: Homeless and low- to middle-income families will have greater access to high-quality childcare through tuition assistance, helping reduce financial barriers.
3) Improved Family Self-Sufficiency through Access to Basic Needs and Advocacy Services: Families accessing childcare at Encompass will also have the opportunity to benefit from the Child & Family Advocate Program, which provides support for Outcomes Data children with challenges and offers self-sufficiency and basic needs assistance for families.
